Review of space habitat designs for long term space explorations

This review paper attempts to provide a useful reference for space habitat designs that advance the ability of humans live in long periods time. Five design concepts are reviewed with principal aim addressing five fundamental problems term exploration: artificial gravity, efficient radiation protection, sustainable food, growth strategy, and commercial values. The categories life support systems, subsystems, economics cost reduction approaches presented focus on establishing sources issues literature, as well highlighting important research directions topics. Humans have enjoyed isolated successes space, but international station (ISS) is going retire soon. long-duration use will be next ambitious program contributions from world-wide scientific technical community. overarching theme show diversity, richness, been undertaken last 60 years exploration.
